How to Delete a Gmail Account on a PC
To access your Gmail account, you can log in from any web browser, including Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and others.
Step 1: Open your browser and navigate to https://mail.google.com first. A Gmail account will open if you are already logged in; if not, you will be asked to provide your email address and password to log in.
2:- After logging in, your mailbox will be accessible. On the left side of the screen, an icon that looks like this one below will appear, and your profile photo will show up in the upper right corner:
3:- Clicking it will bring up a list of all the services that Google provides. Click “Account” in this instance.
4:- Alternatively, you can directly open the account page by visiting https://myaccount.google.com/. The “Data & Personalization” or “Data & Privacy” tab options are located on the left panel. Press the button.
When the page opens, it looks like the image below.
5:- Scroll down to find the section labeled “Download, delete or create a plan for your data”. Apart from deleting your Gmail account, you can choose to back up your data in this step.
If you want to save some of your emails instead of deleting them completely, you can choose “Download your data” first.
6:- On this page, you have the option to backup all of the data connected to your Google Account. Here, you can select “Unselect All” because all that’s needed is to generate a backup for your Gmail account.
7:- Scroll down and find “Mail”. After checking the box, select “Next Step”.
8:- Click “Create Archive” after selecting the email format you want to use for the archive.
9:- If you don’t want to back up, you can immediately select “Delete a service or your account”.
10:- You will be shown a new page. Click on “Delete a service” here.
11:- You will then be asked to provide your password. You will then be taken to the following page, where you can see all the Google services you are currently using. As seen below, select the dustbin icon to delete the Gmail account.
12:- A fresh page appears. To continue using all other Google services, the pop-up prompts you to provide a different email address.
Enter an existing, accessible email account from a service provider other than Google. Next, select “Send confirmation email”.
13:- Go to the backup email address you provided. “Gmail deletion confirmation” is the topic of an email that Google will send you.
After opening the email, scroll down. To confirm the deactivation of your Gmail account, you should click on the link provided.
14:- After that, you will be taken to the page that appears below. If you check the box and then select “Delete Gmail,” the Gmail account will be deleted.
Removing a Gmail Account Using an Android Phone
Step 1: Go to your phone settings. You can usually find the Settings page by swiping down on an Android phone. From there, you can scroll down and select “Google”.
2:- The screen shown below loads. Click and select “Google Account”.
3:- Your default account will open when Gmail opens. Click the drop-down box and choose the account you wish to delete to view all of your Gmail accounts.
4:- The account details of that particular Gmail account will open. After searching for “Manage your Google Account,” select the “Data & Personalization” or “Data & Privacy” option. After swiping down, click “Delete a service or your account”.
5:- Click on “Delete a service” again. When a new page loads, it asks for your password. After entering the password, select “Next”.
